Our townhouse, available to rent, is situated within a gated community with pool on Hole 14 of the prestigious Nuevo Portil golf course.

Nuevo Portil is a relatively new prestigious development around the 18 hole, 5,841 metres 71 par golf course.

Nuevo Portil offers a varied landscape.  14kms of unspoilt coastline with fine white sand and a calm sea, the beach at Nuevo Portil is protected by the Flecha del Rompidio, a 12 km long and 150 metres wide sandbank which is accessible by boat only, making the beach ideal for families.

Varied water sports are available from the beach, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and the very popular kite surfing.

Behind the beach is a coastal walk/cycle way with plenty of places to sit and admire the view and the setting sunset. The other side of the coastal road there is 12,000 hectares of pine groves which are ideal for walking and cycling with several marked trails.
Nuevo Portil is a year round resort with several shops and restaurants now open year round to cater for the growing market of golfers and people wishing to experience the real Spain as well as many wealthy people from Huelva who are choosing to commute to the city on a daily basis.
Nuevo Portil is very popular with the Spanish from Huelva, Seville and Madrid who arrive at the resort on public holidays, weekends and from the middle of June to the middle of September (at this time of year it is essential to book well in advance.)
Nuevo Portil is well connected by the A49 motorway to the airports of Seville and Faro. Approximately 1hr from Faro and 1.5hrs from Seville.
The road network is excellent allowing easy access to Huelva 18 Km and Cartaya 6 km for a wider variety of shopping.

Costa de la Luz
Costa de la Luz or “Coast of Light” is an un-spoilt area of Andalucia that offers a true insight into the real Spain. Nuevo Portil enjoys excellent weather all year round (13C to 30C), and, with over 300 days of sunshine a year, is ideally placed for visiting the area’s attractions. These include the truly beautiful city of Seville and the Coto de Donana National park. The park covers an area of 193 square miles and, in 1994, was first included in the list of World Heritage sites. Inland the Sierra de Aracena was declared a natural park in 1989, it is ideal for trekking with many marked trails.

Huelva
Huelva is approximately 18 Kms from the property. It has a wide variety of shopping including the department store: El Corte Ingles. The city still remains a certain maritime air. On the outskirts, at La Rabida, you can visit the monument to Columbus donated by the USA. The monastery of La Rabida is where the Columbus’s ideas were talked through, voyages decided upon and final details worked out. The building is open all year round to visitors.
The most visited attraction in Huelva is Muelle de las Carabelas, a wharf where you can see replicas of the Pinta, Nina and the Santa Maria which Columbus sailed when discovering America.
One of Huelva’s more bizarre features is a whole quarter designed by English architects, called the Barrio Reina Victoria. It was constructed by the Rio Tinto Mining Company in the early 20th century to house British workers. A truly strange experience more akin to Aracia Avenue, England than an Andalucian town.
